The were probably either a very wooly estimate, or figures of how many copies were sold to shops, not to customers.

I doubt the "sales figures" will include Steam sales.

So we'll need reports for bother retail and Steam to get an accurate result.

I think it would sell near the same amount.
I went to SO many shops today and they all sold out of Half Life 2. I was happy when I finally found it.
Where as I just walked in on the day and bought Halo 2.
So... we shall see.

Because Bungie and Microsoft were not suing each other and clawing at each other's throats.

The final value would be steam sales + retail sales. Due to the lawsuits/confusion between valve/vivendi they don't want to disclose to each other how much as been sold using their method. Thus no figures.

I doubt it sold more than halo2....although it should.....but theres way more litle kids with a 300 dollar xbox than people with 2 thousand dollar computers....thats how I see it....but if this came out on xbox....oh man..
