Different textures on the same solid?

Like if I have a huge block being used as a floor and I want maybe 3 rooms with seperate floor textures. How do I go about doing this? I have been mapping for about 2 weeks and its being bugging me.

You'll need to split the rooms into different brushes, using the Clip tool. Make sure both sides of the brush are white (click the Clip tool until they are) so you keep both sides of the brush. Then you can texture them seperately.
