Ex - CP forces? now that the combine have lost control for the moment, some CP's might remove the uniform and turn back, what do you guys think?

EDIT: mods could you please move this to Episode 2?
 
I think the combine would alter your mind so wouldn't do just that.
 
All the CP's where in the city, so after the citadel's destruction I doubt any of them survived.
 
i dont think they'd be welcomed with open arms if they did defect back to the resistance. the CPs were pretty brutal, the public face of the combine.

Well the rebels have the cps body armor . The combine OW may have slaughterd the cps because they are human , or they just wiped there memorys.
 
There are surely some CP's loose out there, but i don't think, any of them will suddenly turn rebel.
 
Yeah, we've been on the subject for quite awhile.

Didnt samon already mention that we're probably gonna see cps and rebels together :D
 
I expect many only joined the combine to get a better life, out of fear and desperation.
 
the CPs are brutal because they have to be not because they wish too. remember what barney said about his beatings?. i do think most CP, would be willing to defect over to the rebles, and ceep there awsome gasmask helmets.

Lol wut. Civil protection is voluntary. Thus by joining, they are voluntarily bieng brutal. So they do wish to.

Volunteered? Haven't you possibly thought, that the reason they volunteered in the first place IS desperation and starvation.
To spare they're families and have a better life.
They don't WANT to be brutal.

funny all the CP's i saw in the beggining seemed to be enjoying it. especially that one that made me pick up the can.

If they decide that beating, arresting, torturing and handing out death sentences as well as executing their fellow man is worth personal comforts and protecting their family (bear in mind, they have no children) then I still don't have much sympathy for them.

qft. sure some people do like what there doing, but if you were in one of therer cituations, wouldn't you just do what you were told? it's eather that or die, or reble and dio or get turned into a stalker.

NOT counting children they DO have families (or don't).
The ones that did join, joined to make lives better for they're families, and the ones, that didn't have families anymore, joined for better living conditions AND a job. But the combine have ruled the Earth for 20 years or so now and the CP's got used to being mean.

They had no idea one day there was going to be a guy in an orange suit running around killing everything, that either has a gasmask, or doesn't look human.

But in the beginning they didn't want to.
They had no choice.

Though they are cocky now yes.

And face the reality, don't start saying "I'm never going to be a Combine, ME stay human! Me faithful!". If it WOULD happen, i'm sure you would consider otherwise.
 
Ok, well kevin, the a fraction of the metro-cops could have joined for a better life and then changed into beating machines, but the other fraction (Majority) joined for a better life as listed.

-Food
-Sexual simulation
-A place to stay WITH a door (I assume they stay in bunkers or apartments together. I mean who else would want to stay with them?
-Fun of beating. Comical torture.

So pretty much the people who joined metrocops acctually want to be there. By the time they join, say 20s-30s, their family is either gone or too old and wiped off the face of the earth (How often do you see people above the age of 60 in city-17? So they have no family to surpport (brotherhood or "family mabye, but they wont have to support with metrocopism), thus joining the metro-cops for the above options.

No, I can honestly say that I would not join some semi-military police force charged with enforcing totalitarian control over civilians. I would hide away and cower and look after myself, but I would not repress others for my own well-being.

Look, metrocops simply aren't misunderstood heroes. They're just assholes.
 
I guess it's kinda unlikely they decide to swop places in episode two, because if they were clever enough to understand that the combine chain of command has been destroyed due to the chaos of the citadel's aftermath yet didn'exploit that already in episode one, I guess they won't lighten up any time later...and swopping places any time later, out in the deep woods of white forrest, won't be much of a good occasion to long for other dudes' trust.

But sure, it would be cool, to have more people like barney, because with barney, who might turn out to be a cast-away or dead in ep 2, it's unsolved wether he infiltrated the cps or wether he actually started out in terms of the normal job description in the first place and then actually collaborated, which would be cool as hell...
But since that question isn't sufficiently supplied with an appropriate answer, and may never be solved at all, it would be cool to have some substitute side kick, including a new head/face within the source sdk! :D

Anyway, I think it's realistic to assume the overwatch has orders to kill anything that moves and isn't combine, so I'd guess and say, they tried and eliminate the cops as well, just for savety...
Which of course in turn would be a reason to collaborate, so maybe some cps did in fact try changing sides, to have at least one party to support them, but of course maybe they just died trying anyway..
