Doesn't work at all

Hey everyone,

I can't get garry's mod to work, I ran hl2 and tried holding down q, but nothing happened. Do I have to move any files or anything? Thanks in advance.

you don't run normal half life 2.

run steam, look at the "third party games" section, and there should be Garrys Mod Eight v3b.

Run that, then you'll be playing.
