This week's Dota 2 update has introduced a series of minor changes to get the game as ready as possible for the expected summer release due to hit before The International 3 in August. Support for the new "Guild" system has finally been implemented into the main client, even if it remains inaccessible until next week’s update. The new system will allow players to form or join guilds, which can presumably be used to organise parties and matches, or to chat amongst friends. The Interactive Compendium also received a pair of updates in the form of seven pages worth of predictions for the International main event and the introduction of a "Team Cup" results page, which displays the rare loot rewarded to players who "locked in" the name of the winning team and player for each week.

A number of unreleased cosmetic sets were introduced in the update, including sets for Centaur Warrunner, Faceless Void, Pudge, Skeleton King, Skywrath Mage and Slardar. Individual items for Death Prophet and Dragon Knight were also found in the game files, but are not yet released. It would seem that finishing the tutorial system has become a new focus for Valve, as the update also included a number of icons and preview images for the final five unreleased tutorial maps, which include "Location 2: Tidehunter vs Sniper", "Location 3: Mid-Lane 1v1 Tier 1 Tower Fight", "Location 4: Mid 1v1 Tutorial", "Location 5: Bot Practice Match" and "Location 6: Limited Hero Pool Game". Completing tutorials 5 and 6 will apparently reward new players with exclusive loot in the form of the "Gunslinger's Hat" and the "Gunslinger's Rifle", both of which have yet to be added to the game. While these tutorials aren't complete or implemented into the game client yet, the world map is also set to be updated with locations and icons when the new quests go live sometime in the near future, as shown below.

A new in-game book known as the "Archronicus" can also be found on the test client version of the quest map, while the book cannot currently be used or read, strings found in the game’s code seem to reference the book's upcoming purpose, which could revolve around providing new players with background information and basic lore regarding the events of the Dota 2 universe. As the final two unreleased heroes set to be introduced to Dota 2 before the official launch later this summer, Legion Commander and Abaddon both received sizable updates to textures and sound effects, hinting at their possible inclusion in a patch sometime in the coming few weeks.
We should recommend that you ignore a number of recent rumours from numerous news sites claiming Dota 2 has entered an open beta, as the beta remains closed to invitees only. This means the only way to access the main Dota 2 client is to get your hands on a beta invite or by purchasing a starter pack from the Steam Store page. Some hideous cosmetics.. I'm not surprised since they've already shat all over TF2.
