Hey guys...

I had to buy Half Life 2 for the Xbox as my comp is very slow and crap....

Will episode 1 also be released on Xbox or will it be PC only??

Cheers

It probably won't be released on Xbox/Xbox 360. Well, maybe later. Not in a near future though.

Very iffy. Maybe once they get this current trilogy of episodes out they'll port them all over as a single game. But I think I read somewhere that HL2 underperformed on the Xbox, so Valve might not bother trying again.

I would say episodes 1 / 2 / 3 on a single Xbox DVD if at all. Xbox is outdated one could say, as 360 has begun to infiltrate households.

I doubt XBox will get HL2 Episodes. 360 is more likely.

may it will be a 2 pack for xbox 360, the only way to sale HL2 on 360 again maybe

sin episodes is going to Xbox 360, so it's possible on the 360

HL2 Episodes on the 360 is a high possibility. Especially since Valve has announced it is working on products for said platform.

Maybe Valve could have thier own "Steam" section on XBL for 360. Let 360's and PC's play together. Wow that would be awesome.

Yes, HL2 episodes can be released on X360.
Valve was pretty unsatisfied with the Xbox version of HL2 (due to poor sales I think), but they said they are working on something for the 360.

I think they are spending more time on creating future episodes instead of wasting time putting them out on the xbox, which personally I think is a good idea. Especially seeing the console version didnt have multiplayer......waste

Since I've sworn never to buy another console again, I could care less at all for EP1 on Xbox. :D

Valve should never have wasted their efforts on the Xbox when the 360 sdk was available to them. They could have been a 360 launch title, not an also ran on the xbox. Pc gamers do not appreciate console ports and the same can be said of console gamers - no one likes being treated as second class
It was was said when Valve announced their Xbox plans and they learnt the hard way.
The episodes trilogy is Halflife 3 in all but name so it there is a very good chance it will eventually end up on the 360

Wasted effort? Man, considering what an xbox actually is, HL2 looks goddamn good. Hi-res textures, specular lighting, and 2xFSAA is damn impressive off a 733 celeron and a geforce 3. X360 should have no problems whatsoever playing this game in Hi-def glory.
They don't even need to divert thier "main" resources to new content. They could easily justify the salaries of a few PC-to-360 coders considering the potential gain here. I mean. . . would anyone here that owns a 360 NOT buy the full valve catalog?

They were already months ahead in terms of dev before the 360 kit came along John.

why should that have made any difference? They could have waited, they could have gotten the basics laid out early. They chose to make an xbox game knowing full well the 360 was mere months away - nobody had a gun to their heads (well knowing M$ we'll never know for sure )
it was an error that many pointed out by a great many well in advance and one that hurt Valve's pocket and pride badly
Hopefully it won't dent their entrepreneurship in other ventures

I have a feeling that when all 3 episodes are out on the PC (which should be be by winter 2007 at this point) Valve will look at the success of XbOX360 titles and decide whether it'd be worth it to port it over.

It wouldn't make sense to release each episode individually, but as one big pack. Theoretically these episodes could run on the original XBOX, but by the time they're all released, there wouldn't be any point to do so (I doubt there's even a point now).

If Valve is generous, then they could even do a bundle of the games like Rockstar did with GTA3 and Vice City, but again, that's unlikely.

The best thing would be to just play it on the computer. By the time these episodes were to come out on the XBOX360 you're likely to have access to a better PC anyway. :)
