They look like 'em to me. Free-floating, though, without the pods - the place is probably a stronghold where they feel safe roaming around. From the lighting - harsh, white background, shading to blue - it looks like it could be a snowy arctic-y place.

They look like giant shield scanners to me. The shapes aren't too advisorish :O
