I spawned the enemies near the walls making rows of them. When you spawn them, they stack on one another. I did this and let em have it with the crossbow. It didn't take that much time really. warning, if you do this you cannot save and reload the game. I tried this and it crashed the game. If you do decide to do something like this, you must do it in one sitting. Does anyone else have "spawn" showing up as a link?
