ok i gots a few more for everyone-i sent them to gabe a week ago but i dont think ill get an answer for who knows wut reason..

Explosions - Will explosions also be dictated by the physics, ex. two bombs with the same make, one placed indoor with 4 tunnels leading out of it, the other placed outdoor in the middle of no where. now i would expect that when the second bomb explodes it will have a normal explosion, however will the first bomb explode and funnel through the tunnels possibly having a fireball effect or will it have the same explosion as the one that was placed ouotside and just "clip" through the ceiling?

Map size - In a post i read with your replying to a person who ask about the size of your maps comparing them to BF1942, you said that the same map saize is possible in the source engine. Well i would like to know if it is possible to have a map size larger than BF1942(can't think of why anyone would want to short of singleplayer mods). If your could put it into simplier terms(pretend a bf1942 map max. is 6"x6" wut is hl2 comparitively) it would be very helpful.
Map ceiling - also relating to map size, in bf1942(again only relating to bf1942 due to its very large maps short of tribes...) i could not find a ceiling for the map only for the vehicle that i was piloting, does or can the source engine also work like this i.e. are the natural map ceilings untouchable? oh i just had a thought on this - will you be able to shoot at the sky and see the debris from your bullets like in hl1?

Multiplayer player limit - i know that multiplayer is a very sketchy topic right now but iv seen similar questions asked and answered. In the source engine(brilliant simplistic name btw) what amount of players in a server is possible(possible i mean playable, able for a good server to have with little to no lag) with the new improved netcode?

the main ones i wanted answered was the explosion one and multi(which i know no one knows for sure yet, just go ahead and comment on that i guess)

oh and if i know or can explain the map questions(since they already told us the size) i just need a mental picture or the difference from hl1 to hl2.

DoD...a popular HL mod has grenades that shoot out "metal"...it doesnt clip unlike the fire grenades of CS through walls and around corners.

it will def. be a gameplay decision for HL2. who knows right now.

dunno about map size.

multiplayer limit i think is 32 as of now

Concerning the maps, somebody noted that they where roughly 0.7x0.7 miles, meaning some 1.2x1.2km for me (stupid americans with their stupid measuring ;))... I think that is smaller than the BF maps but it cant be by that much. BF is also resized to make you THINK its big, while it actually is rather small. But the most important thing is looping terrain. I do not think Source will be very good for flight combat... But for ground vehicles, you also have 1.2km up too! So actuall terrain that you can move on (with some innovative design) can be like 3x larger than a BF map. Say that you have a 2x2km square of BF, that its, its 4 square km. You do not have more to move on. In HL2 on the other hand, if you have a 2x2km square, you also have a 2km ceiling, which means you fit several layers of terrain on top of this. You could fight in a 2x2km cave, with a 2x2km city above. Meaning effective combat area is twice the equal BF map size. On top of this you can make a 2x2km futuristic highway system, meaning its 3 times the equal BF map size. It only apply for ground combat though.

And its only in theory :)

Edit: and btw, they noted that it is possible to have planes, thus its most likely looping cieling, meaning you can go very high. I just dont think you can build that high. At any rate, maybe one can mod it to be more plane friendly, with looping terrain and all if that isnt supported :)
