"The makers of Roma Victor, an upcoming MMORPG set in Roman-era Britain, have announced that they will be performing an in-game crucifixion of a ganker named Cynewulf. Obviously, hanging someone from a cross has some, shall we say, cultural overtones, but their CEO explains that crucifixion was a common punishment in Roman times:

And since our online world is historically authentic, we feel that applying this punishment to cheats, hackers and other virtual wrongdoers is not only appropriate, but also adds to the gaming experience by resonating with classical history."

"Cynewulf, who is the first player within Roma Victor to receive this brutal punishment, will be hung on a cross for a full seven days on full public display in the digital reconstruction of the provincial town of Corstopitum (modern day Corbridge in Northumberland, England)."

That's brilliant. Except for he's now obviously going to become a martyr to gankers. You fools!
 
They need to start things like that in WoW, simple account suspensions are boring.

I'm curious as to where there will be the whole affair where you see him being put up on the cross and such or if he'll just go *poof* and appear on a cross.
