For the NTL 3mb bunch

It gave me this:

4.5 megabits per second
Communications 4.5 megabits per second
Storage 553.5 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 1.9 seconds
Subjective rating Awesome

Does that mean that I'm Awesome?

no it just means you can't read a post correctly. I said NTL 3mb bunch, I don't care what speeds you've got in Canadaland :p

1.6 megabits per second
Communications 1.6 megabits per second
Storage 194.2 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 5.3 seconds
Subjective rating Great

2.3 megabits per second

Communications 2.3 megabits per second
Storage 284.4 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.6 seconds
Subjective rating Great

2mb is reading as 1.8, how can the 3mb guys get readings of 1.3? odd :|

Umm I was on 1.5 Mbps, when we signed up, but I'm not sure if it was upgraded or not, because it's someone else's account. But I'm assuming it was upgraded because it would be unfair not to upgrade me :(

1.3 megabits per second

Communications 1.3 megabits per second
Storage 159.5 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 6.4 seconds
Subjective rating Good

Edit: :x looks like the tight gits haven't upgraded it, just got almost same results on ADSL guide.

Exactly, this seems to be the case on other testers too, not just that particular one I posted, 3mb is coming in awfully short and not much higher than 2, in some cases much lower. There's no doubt NTL upgraded, but the whole 3mb thing seems to be a bit fake.

Communications 1.3 megabits per second
Storage 153 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 6.7 seconds
Subjective rating Good

It might just be a crappy website Dark Elf, try the link i posted. My downloads are a lot faster though, around 350k up from 180k.

Like I said, "this seems to be the case on other testers too, not just that particular one I posted"

My speeds are faster too, but and I've been reading this elsewhere too, nobody seems to be getting the speeds we're meant to be, even when you accept such things are _never_ as quoted, people are still getting lower than they should be.

I blame AOL users sharing the NTL broadband network ;)

On the plus side, my webcam works much better now hehe.

Mine seems to be fine, apart from on that website. Download speeds are as they should be, so i am sitting pretty :).

Hmmm - I take it the "automatic" upgrades have not been completed.

It gave my 100mbit:
Communications 1.1 megabits per second
Storage 136.4 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 7.5 seconds
Subjective rating Good

...am i beeing ripped off here? :)

My IP limit has been reached but i know for a fact it was 2.5 megabits per second after i upgraded.

ADSLguide shows me as

Direction

Actual Speed

True Speed (estimated)
Downstream 2851 Kbps (356.4 KB/sec) 3079 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 278 Kbps (34.8 KB/sec) 300 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Which is true. My line runs at 3mb yeah?
