Well as you've already guessed, its not quite FREE...

All you've gotta do is hack the PS3 that this webiste is running on.

Wierd, eh?

So you hack the site and you get a PS3?

I don't get it.

did you just say the website is running off of the ps3??

Ps3 supports Linux(so can the Xbox and X360).

That shouldn't be THAT hard to some of those expert hackers... Right? I mean the site is running off of Linux which is running off basically a computer.

It even gives the version name of what Fedora it is running

BUT, I think he is running a honeypot

The PS3 supports Linux out of the box though, unlike the Xbox systems.
True but does it really matter?

Linux is on everything these days.
From Ipods to Computers.

Well no, it doesn't really matter. But when it comes to ease of use, I heard that if you've never dealt with Linux before, installing it on the PS3 is as easy as installing Windows XP on a normal computer.

I wouldn't want a PS3 even if it was free.

yes you would

If that's in reply to me, then you're mistaken.

I see nothing redeemable about a PS3.
None of the titles being released for it interest me.

However, if there was an 360 or Wii for free... I'd definitely want one.

Wouldn't hacking it be illegal?

well no, not in this case because in effect it's just a programming/coding/whatever challenge. it's only illegal when you're breaking the law because your aquiring things that aren't yours, or your doing things that people don't want you to do.

for example, if it's your house you can smash all the windows in if you want, but it doesn't make it breaking in, because it's yours. this is kind of like you having a house and asking people to break in, it's not a crime because it's your property.

and xlucidx, so if someone came up to you and said: here, have a ps3. you'd say no? that's just untrue, for god's sake you could sell it on ebay.

I don't use eBay.

sell it to a small child for pogs and crack, whatever. you would accept a FREE ps3 and you know it.

Of course everyone would. Normally I would use it to heat my room(it's winter) although my computer already does that.... whenever someone comes into my room they always ask me why it's so hot in my room...really works for me.

Although selling it would be cool. Or go in front of some insane Ps3 fans and just destroy it. Take a dump on it...... or better yet!!! mess with the fans, give it to someone, then when they turn it on the fans wont!! Everything will get really hot and melt!! muahhahahahaha!!

yeah, you have fun with that while i sell mine on ebay for 1k plus.

I find destroying some poor kids happyness worth more than $$$. Kinda like finding my own happyness is worth more than $$$. Although $$$ does make me happy..... hmm.... I think I just confused myself.

There's no point in selling, EVERY person out there is selling one on eBay, and not many are making any sales. Its useless, and a waste of time. Also, all that talk of you guys not accepting a FREE PS3 with the retail price of $500-600 if it were given to you, well, thats just complete BS.

well you could at least sell it for face value, and use the money to buy presents for your laydeeey.

God, this whole PS3 debacle is so idiotic. :|

Wouldn't hacking it be illegal?

Not if you get permission.

Like someone said, if the owner says that you can do something to their personal property, and it doesn't affect anybody else, then you can feel free to do it.

That's how sites such as hackthissite.com work... They give you permission to hack them.

that genius someone you refer to.... is me! haaaaaaa-laluja!!!

It's like a raffle. I'm guessing..
