Frozen Characters in Half Life 2

Hi

I have Half Life 2 installed by my vendor. I have Win XP Sp2, Original Intel 845 HT Motherboard, 1 GB RAM, Nvidia geForce 6200 Graphics Card with 256 MB Video memeory.

Whenver i try to load an already saved HL2 game or Die and restart with a level (which is basically loading a level), I see my self moving around in a Frozen world. All characters are frozen and they do not move or respond (even on pressing action key several times).

To start with the game I double click the icon on desktop that has the command string as "E:\Gamez\HL2\Half-Life 2\root\hl2.exe" -steam.

While the characters are frozen, Objects (boxes, bricks, TV, chairs etc.) still remain perfectly manipulative. Also Sounds do not stop. (I can hear my footsteps or reply from the characters whome i try to activate with action key.)

The problem persists even if I exit and restart the game. Only when I restart my PC the problem disappear and the game starts normally from begining. (But cannot load the saved game b'coz the freezing problem would always strike back)

I am not an expert in gaming but had given some shots with good old Half Life (1) few years back (which I loved a lot ) and hence told my vendor to install new version for me on my new PC.

Please help me to solve from this bug.

My first inclination would be that you have a warez version.

BUY the game, and no need for multiple threads.

You didn't need to post this in 2 forums. :|
And yes, he does have a pirated copy. Where it's installed is the first clue ( E:\Gamez\HL2\Half-Life 2\root\hl2.exe ), and the AI Disabled bug is the next clue. Go buy the game.
