game crash!! help me!!

ok new to half life ...here is my problem

game runs fine...i play upto the part where barney throws me out of his office..i jump out of the window and open this door...then i get the messege loading.... and the game crashes to the desktop.!!

i have a 82865g intel extreme graphics 2.

intel site says the game should run with low fps with low textures..but in my cas game runs fine till the crash.

how do i update the game btw?

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your card, cos it sounds like a graphics problem. HL2 should update automatically whenever steam is running and you are connected to the net, as long as you have it set to "always keep this game up to date".

You could also try validating your game files. I dunno how to do that, but someone here should be able to tell you, or you can go to steampowered.com and search the support forums.

Onboard graphics aren't great for many new games (they don't work.)

I can hardly believe that HL2 will run at all with 82865g intel extreme graphics 2, let alone it crashes the game constantly. Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade....
