Game freezes with all HL2 online

I have day of defeat source, CS source, dystopia and battlegrounds 2 and all have the same problem everey now and then they will freeze for about 5 secs and then i die. I know its not my pc as i built it myself and it will run these with ease, and i cant believe its lag on ever server i try so what is it? Ive looked around and i cant find the answer. Ive taken my firewall down and knocked my video setting down but to no avail. Please somebody help me, i love these games but its driving me crazy, as every time i play now i die.

Sounds like a problem with either an important game file that is used by every game, or a problem with your router, if you have one. Try validating the games:
steam://validate/220 (HL2)
steam://validate/300 (DoD:S)

Solved it

Thanks for your help i finally solved it. It was Norton systemworks, it was running in the background and yet again it causes problems with one of my games . Why make something that cant be run when you play games? Annoying
