Game keeps crashing... help!!

Help me please, I am about an hour into "This Vortal Coil" and the game keeps crashing I have tried many different approaches and restarted the game many times before I decided to get some feedback on my situation.

The point at which the game keeps crashing is the area right after I open the gate for the Vortigon(sp?) there are some mine carts with supplies on the right that proceed to descend and then fall off the cliff. I walk up and there is one zombie and a barricaded doorway. There is a mine cart at the top of the hill and as soon as the mine cart begins it's fall to break the barricaded doorway the game crashes. Every time. I really have no idea what to do at this point so hopefully someone can help me out here, thanks.

Try turning some of the settings down in the options, what graphics card you running?

that part dropped to 14 fps for me. I think you must try lowering your settings. Can I know your specs and your error msg?

Crashing EP2

I had trouble with a lot of periodic stuttering and slowdowns with the GeForce 7600GT card, which is more then enough to handle this game. My fix was to download and install the latest drivers from the GeForce website. Problem solved. The original HL2 crashed with my old GeForce card, the fix was the same, latest drivers. Hope that helps!
