Garry's Mod on Steam (addons)

When I buy GMod on Steam do I get addons with it or if not how do I get them ?

Do i need to buy them separately ?

If by addons you mean game modes and maps, no, they are freely available from within the game.

But any content from other games (Portal, L4D, HL2 episodes) you must own those games to have that content in Gmod.
