How do I create an Internet server for Garrys Mod. What steps do I need to take?

Click 'create server' on the main menu. If it's not working, you might have to type sv_lan 0 in the console. If you're running a firewall, you might have to disable it, and if you have a router it might need to be configured...

Ok when I put it on sv_lan 0 it mentions something about VAC successful, but my game is still listed under the LAN category instead of the internet one. I have windows XP and my firewall is disabled. I am using a router to connect my broadband internet. It is a Netgear DG834. Any more help with this?
