Geforce 5900=$100 or..Ati 9800 pro=$250

i have a problem here. my buddy has a 5900 hes selling for 100 dollars,
but i know that the 9800 pro is better.

now i bought an mp3 player on ebay awhile ago, which had an extended warranty. which i envoked. and am receiving a $230 gift card to bestbuy.

so what should i do, what would you do?

So basically you can get a 9800 pro from best buy for $20. Get the 9800 pro, it's much better, and it will cost you less.

well regardless it'll cost me money. in the long run ive spent money on the mp3($160) and from bestbuy im getting $230 thats $70 that ive gained.

tho in the short run your right money in hand is less spent on the 9800 pro.

Seeing that a 5900Ultra performs about the same as a 9600Pro with full precision in HL2, a 5900 would be a little lower and the 9800Pro would be your best option. These are a year old but they are much much better than the benchmarks on the leak, seeing as shaders were not really present in the older build.
In older games the 5900Ultra is comparable to the 9800Pro but image quality on the FX card will be lower.

Add to that, what are your system specs? That's a hard-to-pass-up deal on the 5900, and it may be worth it if you get that and also upgrade something else with the BB gift certificate...

i can play hl2 tho water does not render
its a direct x 6 compatable card. i need to upgrade to DX 9
