For anyone who reads Gamasutra regularly, this is probably old news. I've had a lot of work on at the moment and it's only today that I've been able to catch up with my news alerts from the Games Industry. I even still have an unopened e-copy of Game Developer sitting in my inbox that I'll see to right after I've finished this thread.

There's been a lot of talk about 'education in games' over the last couple of months, and I think it's something that the general public are coming round to, that games can have educational value. Hell, many college professors in the 'States are even campaigning for the use of games in the classroom. I mean, there are books written about this stuff, not to mention academic journals.
Anyway, back to that link I posted and why you might want to read it. It's an interesting account of why you should be slightly wary of the lessons World of Warcraft teaches you. Having only had a 5-minute blast on it myself, I think I have a bit more critical distance. (i.e. I'm not so hooked I've taken a vow to kill anyone who says a bad thing about WoW... and then lewt their body!) However, when I found out that a 'Terms of Use' policy had been written for a monster, I got slightly bemused...
