I just bought the Gold package (my kids talked me in to it <g>) and ran around an empty map in CS:Source. I plan to be killed later. However, I ran the video stress test and was impressed that my system (P4 [email protected], 1024GB ram, 9800XT 128mb) runs so well at a 1280X1024 with 2XAA enabled. I got 62fps in the stress test.

IMHO Valve did one hell of a job providing us a great game engine that doesn't require a hardware upgrade to run. It's a pretty nice contrast to Id's latest engine.

Now I really hope that HL:Source gets released soon so I can play that before HL2! It matters not that i've played it through on every system I have owned since HL was first released. It just seems fitting to do in preparation for HL2. :sniper:

And what would you upgrade too? :o

Your system is not the highest end but still a high end system and better than the majority of people here :p

I have an X800XT PE on order from ATI.

After playing Doom 3 on my system and having an average framerate slightly under 30fps when playing at 1024X768 with 2XAA, it is a relief that the Source engine is VERY playable on the last 2 generations of video cards. :)

I just got the Silver package for $10 :) God bless the ATi Coupons!

bah *shakes fists* ;)

got the money to upgrade atm, but will probably save it for a barebones pc case (shuttle) and TFT screen to save space for uni next year.

stuck with a ati 9600pro amd athlonxp 2200+ and 512mb of ram.
Good job I can play well with lowish FPS.
