Grim Fandango -> HL2 inspiration?

I can't help to think of Grim Fandango when I saw that Bridge leading into the mist. The design is somewhat grimfandangish plus there is a similar structure in the game (number 9 express rails) Anyone else had these thoughts or am I just hallucinating?`

Never played GF, but by the looks of some of the textures and from the screenshots i've seen of GF, it does have a slight resemblance of it.

The mods don't really like linking to the new screenshots, so you have to find them for yourself, but they are on like every major gaming site.

Wow, A post featuring two of my most favorite games: Half-Life and Grim Fandango.

Your not alone jimbones, but I see Grim Fandango everywhere. I think it may have warped my mind.

Personally, I think its a conincidence because GF's art was inspired by mexican folklore, mayan architecture, Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Chirstmas, Casablanca, etc...

Wow Grim Fandango, it is one of the best games of all times, interestingly Grim Fandango and Half-Life both were released in 1998!
