Just got back from seeing the theater.
Planet Terror is the absolute shit, I loved every second of it, the hilarious dialogue(great one liners), the scratchy film, missing reels, cheesey music, excessive violence etc. It was exactly what i was expecting.
10/10
Death Proof was.....a miss, Tarantino's worst film as far as im concerned. I didn't for a second buy that this movie wouldve been shown in a grindhouse theatre. He spends a lot of time establishing characters that you don't care about and using sophisticated dialogue and camera methods when all you really want to see is over the top action.
5/10- it gets points because the car chase scenes were impressive.
I saw two trailers cause i had to go to the bathroom in between films. They were both great, HOBO with a shotgun was hilarious and Machete was very funny as well

Me. I saw it twice, and had a ****ing awesome time on both occasions.
Planet Terror is just pure fun and adreneline every step of the way. Death Proof has its slow moments, but the last 20 minutes are some of the best ****ing pieces of cinema I've seen in ages. Hilarious ending, too.

I'll second that. Saw it twice - appreciated Planet Terror even more on the second viewing, but my fav was Death Proof. Sure, there was alot of setup, but I though he did a great job of capturing some subtle yet entertaining 'chick' dialogue. It was also a somewhat daring cinematic attempt at breaking the heroines, then vicariously giving them revenge through a mirrored crew of heroines. The car chase was nut-clenching good; it had me in a ball both times, and afterwards all I could think of was how the hell he pulled it off without CG (btw, I dug the subtle jab at CG effects earlier, before the chase). Did you know, Zoe, the hood surfer is one of Uma's stunt doubles?

Just watched Planet terror again...so ace, one of the funniest films ive ever seen. This movie was suppost to be a homage to exploitation films and Deathproof just doesn't fit the bill, it's too bad they didn't get eli roth or rob zombie to do the second feature, since they actually have since they understand that these films where more about shock value then 70 minutes of Crappy 80's movie and marijuana refrences. Death Proof is a waste of time imo. IF they split them up for release, I sure as hell aint buying it.
