Hi all & apologies if this has been covered.

I've made it past the striders in the square and down to the tunnel. Raced along turned left into the building, chased by the strider, shot a few combines and taunted the strider waiting for the beam to supposedly fall after the strider blasts the building. The problem appears to be either I'm missing something or my strider has lost its weapon and isn't doing its stuff. I cant see any dropped beam for me to get up to the third floor.

Am I missing something or do I need to take my strider in for a check-up?

Cheers

Hmm. Unless you've already killed the Strider then you might need to reload from the beginning of the chapter. The ramp you're supposed to go up is very near the wide ramp from the previous floor.

A good idea is, when the Strider comes running along the tunnel, to hide and wait till its gone off down the road. Then hide behind a car, drawing its fire, while your rocket-launcher toting rebels take it down. Takes ages but makes everything a lot easier.

Still confused

OK I'll try that, but all the hints I've ready say that you have to go into the building and draw the striders fire so that the damage it creates makes the link to the third floor.

I have shot the damn thing three times with the RPG but it survived. Once I've used up my three shots that's it unless I get to the third floor?

Cheers

Mike

to be honest with you, i remember that beam being down when i got to that part... I don't remember the strider having to do a scripted sequence... in either case, just try reloading from a previous point, that's all I can offer Mike

Sorted.

I got a brain transplant and realised I was on the wrong floor!

Rushed past the slab that goes onto the third floor.

Duh!

Well, there you go.

What I meant by killing the Strider was letting your rebels do it....you DO have some rebels carrying rocket launchers with you, right?

I hung about on the top floor, refilling rockets until the strider was taken down. The Combine send scanners in if you hide well enough, so you can take the scanners out and nick their valuable batteries to recharge your HEV at the same time.

I quite enjoyed stalking a strider...it was fun watching it look around for me, then popping up from a hiiden wall and popping a rocket off at it's head.
