copy the file to your main HL2 dir, then run HL2 and in console type "playdemo lol" .. and enjoy.
 
Heh, I did the exact same thing on that level. :p Damn, Half Life 2 is so damn fun :)

How do you make those?
 
I believe all you have to do is open console with the "~" button and then type "record blahblah" (without the ") and it will start recording a demo named blahblah and it puts it in your HL2 folder. When you are done recording you just type "stop" in the console.

awww man, i cant figure out where to put it, can anyone give me an exaple of a directory adress? like valve/steam.... ect ect? plz? thanks!
 
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\YOURUSERNAME\half-life 2\hl2

or wherever. Or maybe just open it with hl2? I haven't tried, but it seems to have associated itself with hl2.

you put the demo file in HL2 main dir.

you just put "playdemo lol" you dont put.dem at the end.
and make sure its in the main dir.
 
yeah man I was just too stupid
I thought I had put the demos in right directory, but I must have been distracted by something, and put them somewhere else

the demos are cool
 
Am i missing something here? What was so good about that demo, the barrels blowing up?

Its funny how they all get ripped to pieces and fly all over the place, all from 1 bullet, and ony that map, ammo is very vital, cause you run out of it quickly.

Lol, the ball was getting attacked and it rolled those head crabs to death. Whats this about legs and them moving by them selves?
 
Redundant I tried to pm you back but this comp I'm on is rather dodgy.

For my demo the console command is phys_timescale number, where the number can be anywhere from 0 (physics time is stopped) to 1 (normal speed). Higher than that yields ultra fast physics, and I've not tried it with negative numbers.

Also check out air_density number, this one seems to work sometimes and sometimes not, often it will work if you set it to something like 200 and then reload the level. Then ragdolls will slow down and act as if they're in a lower gravity environment, and generally physics will act as if the air is thicker.

I just bound the phys_timescale commands to a set of keys and made a demo, for the life of me I can't get the air_density to work again. I got it at one point to have the ragdolls stop in midair, but I'm having much trouble reproducing that. It may have been a different command, I thought sv_maxvelocity was it, but I don't think that's it.
