Half-life 1...replayed. (Possible Spoilers)

I am currently replaying HL1(for the 10th time, at least) to decypher more about the story of Half-life. I'll be updating this thread as I go along, posting the things I find that seem fit to be posted here. Here are a few things I have found out:

- The security gaurd when you first get off the tram says that you are running late...why?
- Gordon Freeman has a kid. What happens to his wife/kid after the resonance cascade? After the combine take over earth? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/psychoticdemento/hlpic1.jpg The picture of his kid is on the top shelf, on the right.
- Vance and Kleiner are not on the lockers in the locker room.
- When you first get into the room with Kleiner and Vance, one of the other scientists says: "...they're waiting for you, in the [doomy voice]TEST CHAMBER.[/doomy voice]" Maybe the scientists know something you don't.

That picture isn't gordon's kid. It says in the manual that he has no living family or something like that.

I noticed that Nihilanth seems to have a robotic err... Underside. That leads me to believe he was a creation of the combine and not something that was enslaved by them.

Um...because you're running late? Sorry, but it's just that simple...Gordon was late for work that day. There's speculation that the problems popping up that morning caused some disruption in the trams that made him late.

This has been noted before. There is a notation in the manual that says that Gordon has no dependants. Must be his nephew or something.

- Vance and Kleiner are not on the lockers in the locker room.

They don't have lockers because they aren't members of the HL development team. The only in-game character who has a locker is Gordon. All the other names are of Valve team members.

About the TEST CHAMBER thing, it's probably for dramatic effect... Ooooh, Test Chamber. They Test things. In the Test Chamber. Capital T and capital C. A Chamber for Testing.

Nope. The minibar's in the Test Chamber over in the Lambda Complex. Totally different Test Chamber. :naughty:

Its probably all just to make the story more indepth, and the "waiting for you gordon" part is just to make you think that something might happen...not that it would!

Cool fact about the lockers and the development team!

HL is full of little in-jokes and Valve references. The locker room alone has the development team's names on the lockers, a book written by Mark Laidlaw (the writer of both HL and HL2) in Gordon's locker, and the picture of one of the development team's kids in Gordon's locker.

yes, and as far as i can see there are virtually NO differences between hl1 and hl:s... Sorry there is the physics engine but i wanted to play hl with hl2 graphics!!!
