Half Life 2 release via Steam

Hi All

With all these videos getting stored in a cache file first then making them available a few days later to view is probably how they will release the full Half Life 2 game via Steam.

The game will probably be downloaded into the cache (in chunks) a few days before release so when September 30th comes along, it is ready to play immediately.

I reckon that is pretty cool

They'll be a bit more careful with the game then a bunch of promo videos they're giving away for free.

So, you can only get Half-Life 2 from Steam if you pay for it? Will you get a rebate or something?
