I hope someone can help me... Half-Life is my favorite game series, so I recently installed HL2, EP1 and EP2 to play through them again. Except suddenly they play very badly.
I used to be able to get 60fps on all 3, fully maxed with 16x anti aliasing. Now in the same settings even on the game menu (with the scenes in the background) I am getting about 10fps on HL2, about 15 on EP1, and horribly enough, 3fps in EP2. I also just finished playing Portal 2 again, which I also played Maxed with 16xAA, and it was a solid 60 all the way through. Very strange that this is happening now!
The only thing that has changed in my hardware since the last time I played is that I have a new CPU, because I fried my old one. However, its a BETTER cpu. So it makes no sense. Also nothing is going on in the background while I tried the games, Antivirus isnt kicking in or anything like that, I also just loaded another game (Just Cause 2) to make sure my computer wasn't dying suddenly and that's playing fine.

Intel i3 2100 (overclocked)
GTX 560 Ti
4GB RAM DDR3
running Windows 7 x64
