Half-Life 2 Story Arc?

This is something I've been wondering for some time now, and sorry if it has been asked before. I haven't been keeping up with the forum or the latest interviews with Valve. So anyway, Will the Half-Life 2 Story Arc end with Episode 3? or will it continue into Half-Life 3? I'll find it a bit wierd and kinda crazy if all of a sudden, the Humans beat the Combine and freed earth in Episode 3.

I know this is off-topic, but are the Combine completely cut off from Earth now? I would think so since their entanglement reactor has been blown to bits.

The HL2 story arc ends with Ep 3. But there could be a HL3 set some time after these events,like the transition from HL to HL2.

I think there will definately be a Half-life 3 and beyond - it'll just take the story into new territory.

As for the Combine - well, I'm not sure. It's possible.
