This has been discussed, a lot.
My opinion is that if they movie revolved around Gordon Freeman, it would be terrible. it would be a hell of a lot better if it followed the USMC at Black Mesa. But not Freeman. How would it look if the main character didn't even speak? There won't be a movie anyway since Valve has rejected all of the scripts. They don't want their flagship franchise derailed by a shitty movie.
