Hangs during the game

I have many short hangs during the game. For about 3 seconds I have a still image and the sound is looping. Afterwards the game keeps running normally.

I installed the newest Nvidia driver, but I still have these hangs. How can I solve this problem?

I have the exact same problem...i also have it in cs:s.

have the same problem, every 5 secons the game hangs for another 5 secs. looping sound included. this starts after loading into the main menu. really freaks me out. this way its unplayable.
