Who cares? He's not the only one who started to doubt VALVe's statements and whose controversial opinion was proven to be true in the end.

As long as Fragmaster doesn't decide to shove it in anyones faces ever then I am all right with him. He pissed me off when he kept on saying he was right even though all the evidence he gave did not even come close to proving his belief. If he simply made 1 simple statement like this then I suspect that he wouldn't have made so many people mad at him:
"In my opinion Half Life 2 will not make the September 30th release date. I think it will be delayed."
If he simply made one statement like that and did not post up his article and start using the news ticker to spread his message then he would have been much better off.
True but hes a reporter. A good reporter isn't supposed to give their opinion on anything, they are supposed to be completely unbiased.Originally posted by MrWhite
Ah but we're all so fallably human
I suppose, but it still doesn't mean I will stop disliking him.Originally posted by nietzsche
That's the problem of the kids who regard the opinion of an editor for a fan-site as the source of all Half-Life 2 information. What he's doing is standard behaviour in many established printed papers. At a certain age you should have learned to differentiate between the source you're considering, either through experience or through education.

OK, so now the Half-Life 2 delay has finally been officially confirmed by Valve. They're, "currently targeting a holiday release," which is the same thing Vivendi told us back in July.
Like I've said (endlessly), I don't care for how Valve handled this situation. They should have confirmed the delay earlier, not one week away from HL2's supposed release. I think telling the European press at ECTS (less than a month ago) that the, "release date is unchanged," was irresponsible. Good marketing? Maybe. A nice way to treat your fans? No.
That being said, dwelling on the delay won't do anyone any good. Bitching and moaning about it won't accomplish a damn thing. The bottom line is that Half-Life 2 is going to ship eventually, and it's almost certainly going to be worth the wait. In the meantime, there are still plenty of other games and HL mods to play.
Ya he is being good about it now. He may still rub it in sometime in the future though. Or he may have already done that on the forums. I don't read the PHL forums so I wouldn't know.Originally posted by not28
Come on guys. He's not rubbing it in anybody's face. Judging by that last write-up he seems to be taking it rather well. However, I don't read his message boards so maybe behind the scenes he acts like an ass.

I would ignore his posts. Unfortunatly he is the biggest and most well known news poster in the HL community, I ignore City-17 ever since they compiled that FAQ of theirs and did not give any credit to those who actually found out the information by e-mailing Gabe and then posting in the Valve info thread. Ignoring a small fan site is easy, ignoring PHL is not so easy.Originally posted by nietzsche
That's the point of free speech in media. If his opinions give you the heebie jeebies, don't read his news postings on PLH.

Whether I like it or not PHL still is the best site to go for HL2 news. As long as that stays the same I will remain a visitor.
