haveings some problems... but look what i found!

ok... im haveing some technical difficulty with the shadows in HL2 and i belive in Sin E. as well... after i change the screen rez ( cuz i got a new flat screen monitor X] *yay*) i started haveing problems with the hud, the ammo screen was about middle way of the screen and cut off, along with the aux power. any way... i went to gets some screen shots and found something awsome! not sure if any of you have already saw it or not... but i was flying around at the begining of route kanal and out in the distance i spotted a little box... so out of curisosty i wanted to see what it was so i flew over there to find out... and guess what it was!? well... the i pix speak for them self.

the gman in the box is very very old news and on lcd monitors its best to run at the native resolution. also restart the game after changing the resolution then it should fix it

the highest resolution your computer can go up to but i just noticed what video card you had so keep it at 1024x768. have you tried getting new nvidia video drivers?

I dont have a problem running it at 1440x900... except the hud thing... enless thats whats causeing it... but im not sure... what is the latest nvidia driver? I have force ware version 84.21

The HUD glitch has been with us since the dawn of release. This is caused by a change in screen resolution. Solution? Exit the game, then re-enter.

do you have shadows on low?

you know... now that you mention it i just might...

no... just checked it, there on high. and while i was playing i noticed that the shadows are ok till they start moving, then the kinda lag and reset after a while... like when the combine are shooting at me ( i was watching them in god mode ) and when i move they just turn instead of following me, there shadows over lap the last shadow instead of the shadow actually moving with the character.

well the only other help i can provide is either to validate your files or reinstall hl2

just click on hl2 in the my games list on steam and press validate game cache file
