Ok, I walk in, get scanned, the dr says follow me, I follow her, she opens a door, I walk through. She just stands there.

It looks like an elevator should come up but it isn't. She stands by the door saying, hurry dr freeman.

Am i a moron?

Sometimes scripted events don't play for whatever reason, try reloading from a little earlier before, or if necessary, the level start. If that's a little too drastic, maybe just try interacting with her a lot or bumping into her from different angles or even going a distance away from her and approaching again.

No, definitely not a warezed version.

Bought the silver through steam, playing it through steam, and still stuck at the same spot.

I have run into her from every angle possible, reloaded a prior save game, emptied all my weapons at everything in the two rooms, but still she taunts me.

Don't accuse people of having the warez version like that. It has different problems.

Open the console and type restart. Should reload the level as well as all scripts and their variables on that level. I only had to do it once when Barney's script misbehaved, but it worked.

The A.I is disabled in the warez versions, I dont know anyone with a legit version who has this issue.

I have bought it through Steam too, and have the same problem. The A.I. is not disabled. Going to try the restart thing now.. Hope it'll work Solver.

In the warez version... the AI is disabled. Which means AI wouldn't do ANYTHING. Shoot back, move, anything. While if a script won't start or won't finish, it's another thing,and has happened to many legit users.

When you first meet Alyx, there's this elevator. If you get into it too soon, Alyx might not go in, resulting in being stuck. Or for other people Barney sometimes stopped doing what he was supposed to.

Anyway, I haven't found any resolution to it. And about the AI being disabled in warez versions...the problem can be fixed by typing ai_disable "0" in the command prompt. You can also do some little trick by making a cfg file and loading it when HL 2 loads. Anyway, this problem is not related to the AI being disabled and is very, very annoying. NO WAY TO CONTINUE AT ALL.

OK, lots of people have come across this problem, and contrary to popular belief that you have a pirated game, it's actually because the AI fails to continue.

In order to resolve this issue:
Follow Dr Mossman to the lift, and IMMEDIATELY after she finishes talking, perform a QUICKSAVE (F6). Once you restart from your quicksave you should find that she will walk into the lift.. follow her and continue gaming!!
