What HAVE I DONE????? Somthing to do with directX? Think i mest up when installing the driver for graphics card?

It would be a good idea to reset your bios back to defaults, then get the latest driver for what ever gfx card you have.

You could have a virus or maybe a hardware problem. Backup your files asap, you might need to format.

Not anything on the hard drive.
I dont think resetting the bios is likely to work btw.

how do i check for virus and Backup files if the thing wont start

Try to get into dos with a startup floppy or cd (the xp cd should work, but you might have to change the boot order in the bios). Keep restarting if it wont detect the drives or try autodetect hard drives in the bios. You might have to put the drive into another system if you cant get it working.
To check for a virus make a norton antivirus startup disk on another computer, if you have to.
