It's difficult to decipher, but I guess maybe he's saying that he thinks Valve is going to release Hl2 on the same day as D3. Why he would think that I have not a clue though.

SiN was a highly anticipated game, but was released with tons of bugs and technical problems. Apparently after like 6 patches or so the game became fun. I don't know what this has to do with Half-Life 2 though. :|

I believe he got bent in his mind, but anyway;

SiN was the big "HL" killer or w/e. They were the two big games at the time. Now it's Doom 3 against HL2... So generally HL will come out as the winner and I'm guessing 3 years from now we'll have HL3 which kicks every game at the time's ass aswell.

What's funny about the whole Sin thing, is that it used Quake 2's engine, yet somehow looked so much ropier than Valve's modified Quake engine.

Sin was what Doom 3 is now - a hyped and supposedly graphically superior game. Although, it had too many bugs which became it's downfall. But Doom 3 will have very less bugs for sure,it's being developed by id software for crying out loud.
