HL2 display problem

ok, here is the problem. evrytime i run hl2 it when it opens up the load screen is half way off of my screen. same withe the start menu, all i can see is the console. the clickable menu is off the left side of my screen. is there a way in the console for me to fix this issue?

P.S. when i run CS:S it is centered on the screen, but if i run any hl2(deathmatch, single player, lost coast) the whole screen is shifted to the left.

You should use the search function really, this question has just been asked and answered.

Look for the launch options under the Play games Properties and put this in it: -window -console

Adjust the resolution to the same as your desktop, then select Full Screen mode.
