Ok, I don't know if I beat HL2: episode 1 or not but got to the part where Alyx and Gordon hop on the train as they see the transmission blow up. Then it showed the credits. Is the game really suppose to be that short?

And what is the system requirements for half-life 2: episode two? Would it be the same as the previous half-life 2's?

Yes5 it is meant to be that way because it is a damn episode.Episodes are meant to be between maybe 3 or4 to 10 hours long by my guess and episode 2 requirements probably be a bit higher than episode 1 but it would use directx.10 cause that is for vista only.I could be wrong but.

direct x 10 is not implemented in hl2 at all. its just a new engine update with added features but it is still direct x 9.

Episode 1 + Episode 2 + Episode 3 = Full Game with Cool other stuff (eg, Portal, Team Fortress 2).

If you can play Episode One well then you should be fine with Episode Two - AFAIK the actual system requirements haven't been released yet.

Episode Two will support DirectX 10 features

How much is Vista?

More importantly, what is DirectX 10 API?

As far as I know, Episode Two and TF2 will not support DirectX 10. The games will take advantage of DX10 capable cards - and Valve meant bigger texture memory (ie. 640MB on a GeForce 8800GTS).

asfaik direct x10 does not support the source engine. if you could show me more sources i might believe it.

They could have been quicker if they didnt try to fit it into only three episodes. They really should have spaced it out more to keep the new ones coming and not worry about the console dates being the same as the pc release i could be playing it and be pretty far instead of typing this...mumble....mumble...grumble

OMG! Do you even know how much 640MB in textures memory is? There's NO computer game currently that needs so much!

And FGS, how many times i should say, DX10 is still in development stage, it's capabilities are way to be seen! Microsoft constantly update their DX system, and they ayn't done with DX9, especialy with recent addition of HDR, so i expect we stick with it for a while. And besides, the only OS that support DX10 is Vista, which is still not 'assimiltaed' like XP is + DX10 GPUs are far too expensive for now.

Actually, they are making more than 3 episodes. An episode 4 is currently under production but not by Valve. Which means we will see 4 before 2.
;(
