HL2 High-Rez Textures?

I apologize if this is the wrong forum or has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

I was hoping that their was some updated textures for HL2 and I just found FakeFactory's Cinematic Mod, but a lot of teh background and ground textures are not changes or are just not every good. Has anyone else made a texture pack?

Thank you for replying, I really enjoy the immersion of a game and the mixture of good and bad quality textures bothers me for some reason.

I am just surprised with this huge community, they were never "fixed." In the game Oblivion, 10 different versions were out in the first 2-3 months.

Still, I just can't see after 2+ years more people haven't taken the task to update the textures.

Valve have higher resolution versions of the textures for all games, if we'd just get them to release those there'd be no more problems.

Well, that isn't very nice, is it? After all th money we spend, they could at least make us a "little" happy.

They plan to eventually. Don't complain. It would be a huge patch for very little gain.

On forums.facepunchstudios.com In the mods/addons section (Or was it the Models/Materials section? Can't remember.) There is a huge texture pack that can be used with any source game. It is a high resolution Texture mod, But requires a high end computer to run well. Requirements:

CPU: Anything is dual core with more than 2.5 GHZ in it's hands.

GPU: Unknown, Just a good one.

RAM: 2.0GB +

System: Windows XP (Recommended)- Vista (A little laggier.)

I reckon the reason as to why there arent very many high-res packs for HL2, is cause people dont really complain about the graphics all that much...

You sure about that? Oblivion is an incredible game with graphics that IMO are easily on par with HL2 (+ episodes). I have yet to find any game in the past two years which has had such incredible graphics and excellent scenery that are found in Oblivion. Especially when you add the "Total Oblivion Texture Overhaul" package (TOTO).

Yea... HL2 and the episodes are great games, but I have yet to find a game in the past two years that has sucked me in like Oblivion has. It's a whole different type of game but an incredible game at that.
