The manual through steam is only a quik reference card.. d'oh! Wanna read about throwing grenades and stuff like this!
any online HL2 official manual, or in my steam directory?

The manual in the retail version is also just a paper with some installation notes and the controls...

There is no manual. They want you to buy the strategy guide

guess so. but then again, in an FPS, what do you actually need a manual for...

'page #1: shoot stuff' (end of manual).

Yep, turns out the manual is the Strategy Guide.

I'm glad I bought Gold now, but I mean really . . . would it have killed them to print out more than just a reference card?
