HL2 problem

Hey guys, Im new here
Sooo heres the problem, I havent played Half Life a a while now sooo when the Episode 1 come out I desided to play again.
Now when I come in the game my aim is a "Q" and all the weapons displade my letters!!
can any one hel me fix this???

BTW this problem is in my HL 2, Lost Coast and in Eps 1!!
I tried reinstalling and it didnt help.

Right click the games with the problem and go to properites and verify the game content files and that should fix it. Its some text based symbols file thing, i've seen the problems 3/4 times before, its quite rare. Have a search on the forums for the problem if that doesn't fix it. I think you can delete a specific file too. (if you need to).

can you plz help me find a solution??
I atleast need a right keyword to search, because searching the entire forum will take for ever!

Damn I've never seen or heard of that before and I live in help and support :E
If verifying didn't work I'm totally stumped (I take this is legal and not warez)

maybe download a custom reticle

or type cl_crosshair 0 in the console

and to any one who has this problem, this is the solution!!
btw I also deleted halflife2 font from my windows font folder (I have it cuz I use photoshop) to make sure it wazent messing things up!!

the problem is that i have played the game all the way through about five times now i have it on xbox and ive had it about 5 weeks now and i cant find the hydra!!! where is if some one could help me i would be so greatfull please!!!

Anticipating your disgust at the fact that it was cut, the Hydra was cut because it was crap. A 10 second appearance in a three year old scripted sequence cannot communicate to us very much. Sure, it looked badass taking out that Combine Soldier, but what did it look like when you fought it? Like a blob that came towards you and made you die suddenly. The designers tried in vain to make it more exciting, but ultimately they failed and simply got rid of it from the game. If it appears again someday in some form, that'll be lovely. But don't count on it, some things just aren't as good as they sound on paper.
