Half Life 2 should be rated T, games these days make it look like a boring not very gory game, it should have Blood and Mild Laungauge, it makes sense because theres a console command that tones down the blood and stuff.
So yeah they should make it "T". Thank you, and you afro smiley :afro:

You can cut zombies in half with a saw, and a rotating blades. Then they crawl after you. When you shoot someone a healthy amount of blood sprays all over the wall behind them. Realistic looking bullet holes appear in peoples bodies.

Although its not ridiculously over the top, it definitely deserves to be an M game.

think about the 10 years old kids

"the N3rd Guy In dA Cov3r is M3??????? ZOMG I D0nt W4nt t0 pL4y as A N3rd DuD3 I W4nt t0 b3 B4dASS!!!!!!!1"

who cares what rating it is? you can still buy it whatever age you are. Or at least I did.

Yea definitley should be rated M, that way when angry parents bring games back to my work and say "this game is too gory i want my money back" we can be like, um it shows the rating on the cover and kick em out :)

It really doesn't matter what rating it is, the ratings are just a guideline, not law. If one store refuses to sell you a "M" rated game because you're underage, chances are that there's 10 other stores that will sell it to you.

But I wish they did enforce the ratings more strictly, because that would mean less annoying 15 year olds playing online games, and that's a good thing. :D

not anymore, pretty much every gamestore is now required to card gamers to see if they are 17  for M rated games

I think Ravenholm was the main push for the "M" rating. I mean, there were plenty of decapitations of human-like enemies.

Actually baby wasn't the ID thing only in North Carolina..I forget..

Super Mario Brothers needed a Rating "M"...I mean, bouncing on turtles, and Gumbas?! That's like...inhumane treatment ot animals....

I vote yes!

The rating is fine.
Sorry that your parents wont let you get M rated games.

I've been carded only once, I was 17 but didn't have license then..But my brother was there is its all good. Other than that, I haven't been carded.

I think it would detract from the game experience if they toned it down.

They targetted the audience, which would be mainly young adult gamers.

The story is probably a bit too deep for younger gamers to get into anyway.

It was rated 15 here in the UK.

Though not as gory as some other games like SOF, HL2 still deserves an M-Rating for some nice blood and gore in Ravenholm. The only M-Rated game which should have been rated T is Halo 1 which had the absolute most pussy M-rated violence ever.

my dad didn care at all when he got me Half Life 2. i got Diablo 2 when i was 14 years old and it was rated M. i guess its not really gorey at all.

Wal-mart in CT does it too. Really stupid. It's a warning, not a restriction, that's how they should treat it.

Hell, I think they should only list gory/explicit acts and not put any age on it. This would help parents makes a better, non-biased judgement.

Rating games "M" "T" and "R" is freaking stupid, it's not like a kid is going to get his dads shotgun and blow his mother full of holes just because he just saw evil dead or something, it's freakin scientificly proved that kids aren't violent because of TV and games.

I bought half life 2 while wearing my school uniform, and I'm 13 going on 14, they didn't even blink an eye. And it wasn't soome dingy store hidden away in a alley, i got it from one of the largest computer stores in my country.

Supposedly by parent's, they will.

My 56yr old mother had to show her ID to verify her age to buy HL2 for me.
Isn't that kinda've OVERKILL?

added info : My ID doesn't seem to be very good either, I mean what is the max age?
I'm one year away from being 18, and still get carded.

Why didn't you buy it?

yeah i think it's stupid that kids under 17 or whatever have it hard to get their hands on a copy of one of the greatest games of all time. but back on topic, i definatley think hl2 deserved the M rating. there's blood spatters, mutilated zombies, and dead bodies everywhere. and is it just me or did barney say "f***" towards the end? if it were up to me, i wouldn't even put ratings on games, but according to the esrb, hl2 is definatley M material.
