If I preload hl2 on steam and but the game at the store do i just put the cdkey in?

Or do i have to put all the disks in then the cdkey to make it work?

if you download via internet, you don't need any discs.. but if you get your copy at the store, you'll have 5 discs.. if you plan on using the store version you'll need to use the discs to install it and then go online to register it.. if you just use steam, there will be no disks(but you need highspeed internet to download the whole game of course)
