I had high hopes for hl2, probably too high. It met most of them, but I think the reason it fell short in some areas was the fact of hl2's plagued development (which is probably obvious) kept it from meeting the exceedingly high standards of hl2 fans. For one, IMO the game was too short. The story was paced well (except for Route Canal and Water hazard), and it would have been better except for the length of the game, I mean you can only put so much story in a short FPS game without it becoming boring, so they did achieve a nearly perfect balance with this.

But, back to the main point. It is really difficult to make a sequel to one of the best FPS games ever, but its even more difficult when your dev team is embroiled in lawsuits and tracking down source code thieves. I really don't think anyone should have expected more, hl2 is a great game, and it still holds my interest.

agreed, i mean hell i'm playing for the fifth time and i have only had the game a little over a month. even found out something new while playing.

*Sigh* Another same old HL2 post. No offence dude, but we've heard it all before, it seems 35% of the people on here, all have the same oppinion.

Its a bit tiresome and I think subjects like this should be chatted about on IRC or something. You could probably create 5 Sticky forum posts, and everything posted would fall under one of those 5 catagories.
