I want to record part of the gametime and then save it on a memory card so I can play it on a different computer. I already know how to record a game with "record demo_name" but then how do I play it and save it to things like a memory card?

My goodness! You people know everything! I tried it and it works. Thanks for the help.

There's a problem with the recording. I can record for about 20 seconds and then it just stops recording for some reason. How can I fix this?

If you're recording Source games you can just use Source Recorder.

It can, but it's kinda odd. I find it easier to export the frames and then put them into vdub, save as uncompressed .avi and compress with x264 D:

Yes it can.

record x
sv_cheats 1
host_framerate 30
startmovie x avi
playdemo x

That would burn a huge hole on your HDD
Fraps has the ability to compress etc... Fraps can half the size. On average I get about 27mb for 4 seconds of footage (30FPS Half-size AVI, Sound)

Well I've yet to see my HDD be full.

No - luckily for me.

And I can't believe I once tried using Camtasia Studio to record the G-man intro. Shocking.
