How does armor energy effect damage?

I can't seem to figure out how damage taken is reduced when you have energy. Does anyone know?
 
It's a mix of microshield technoligy sp* and wizards doing it.
 
High-impact reactive armor. When the suit is energized, the plates carry a charge that serve as a barrier and disperse the force of impact. The suit, as well as the user, don't take as much damage that way.
 
I think he's talking about the actual mathematical relation.
 
So, what, no one knows the stupid math? The games been out for years!
 
2/3 dmg goes to armor

80 armor and up = takes 100% damage
 
So... wait, with maximum armor you can take about..... 172 points?

No wait, that can't be right.....
 
just go with a wizard did it. Less thinking about it.
