more weapons != better game
what a dumb thing to say

Agree, what you said was really dumb.

Hilarious stuff

All those weapons, some mostly useless - cramped into the game, without gameplay scenarios worthy of utilizing most of them? How can you say they crippled the game because you've seen a weapon list? I mean seriously, what planet do you live on? Uranus? You don't know what they do. And I know for a fact had HL2 had all those weapons in that it would be you complaining about how cramped the game was weapon wise. Man. You people piss me off.

Weapons are for killing, as long as there are targets to hit weapons are usefull, and fun, no matter how many weapons. And the worst, is that I've never seen you complaining about a single flaw on HL2, you even criticize those who don't agree with your vision of a perfect game, you sound like a fan-boy, moderators shouldn't be this impartial.

No you don't, you don't have facts, you don't have shit to back you up on this assumption, and for last, you don't know shit about me.

John said nothing that was dumb. So I guess you agree that what you said is dumb. !

Yeah.

Quite wrong. As a developer you cannot throw as many weapons as you want in and expect the player to have fun just because they can shoot the bad guy. Do you think there should be a pogo stick in HL2? For Gordon to use? I'm sure that because you can beat the Combine with it it's going to be fun. Weapons should be balanced, the selection balanced, and it shouldn't be over crowded with a ridiculous amount.

Your statement is silly. Please don't go into game development.

It's ok. I retract my original statement given that you feel throwing countless weapons in is lol fun.

Scroll through my post history. You will find you are quite wrong.

I disagree with people. I think HL2 is the best FPS I have ever played, because it raises bars in the areas people didn't expect it too - not because it's the generic shooter with 20000 odd weapons and dull, simplistic level design that's been copy and pasted from level 3. Sometimes I may sound harsh, but it's simply the way I phrase things. Perfect vision? Hehe, flawed logic there. It's not a vision. HL2 is right in front of me, and it's almost as perfect as I ever wanted it.

Maybe because...I AM!? Call me what you wish. HL2 is a near perfect shooter in my opinion, I am sorry that you do not agree (Actually, I couldn't care less)

You mean I should be impartial, right? You know, it might startle you to hear this but I've an opinion. My opinion is: HL2 is the best first person shooter on the market. Now I've said this a few times now, I'm simply hoping it'll get through. Oh - and my opinion of HL2 does not factor in my job as a Moderator. Would you believe that?

HL 2 is not perfect. Far from it. It has many flaws IMO, from Highway 17 to sandtraps to the citadel. Allies don't speak when you hit 'use' key, they use SMG against a strider, and so on. Combine soldiers don't offer coverfire often enough, they don't charge you when close to death, and don't synchronise their attacks. Heck, I was even hoping for a lean function back in 2004.

But among shooters, it is still the BEST IN THE MARKET. :afro:

I want to add the Ice Axe, Stun Stick, Fire Extinguisher, Binoculars, Manhack, Thumper, Rollerwand, Flare Gun, MP5KA4 SMG, AK-47, Good Modeled Alyxgun, XM29 Objective Individual Combat Weapon, Heavy Machine Gun, Sniper Rifle, Incendiary Rifle, Gauss Gun, Combine Guard Gun, Molotoc, SLAM, Sticky Launcher, Hopwire, Cremator Head, Immolator and the Headcrab. I really want to try these weapons, please teach me how to add them. Without using SDK, VERC Tutorials and all...thanks...:)

Those sound like really crappy weapons to me. :E

hehe... The ice axe was almost exactly like the crowbar, only a reskin.

Except that it had a faster rate of fire, but it is bullshit anyways.

Out of the stuff I tried in Missing Information, the hopwire was the only thing I miss because it was pretty cool and could have been fun if it listened a bit more, the main problem with it is that it tends to roll after it hits the ground, and thus doesn't always end up where you want it.

I did not like the way that MP7 ended up looking (looks too cartoony to me - like a gun I would draw while doodling when I was 12 years old) but I agree that the game didn't need several variations of weapons that all do basically the same thing.

I loved the MP7 ;(

I still say the Experimental category should have remained. Who's with me?
