how to enter the thieves guilt

i am trying to enter thieves guilt and the woman has beaten me in the quest. the logbook says that i can steal the book from her but how?

if she has beat you to the book, go talk/bribe to a beggar and find out where here home is. Sneak in and steal if from her.

I believe her home is right in that same area by the way, but the beggars told me she sleeps late, into the afternoon, so you should try breaking into it at like 8-10pm maybe.

Uhh its easier to save right before you started that quest and reload if you didn't get it.

I shot her in the leg with a bow , got in the house and then payed off 40 gold to the guard. Piece of cake = D
