I just finished the best game ever.;(
Having finished doom3 not two weeks ago, I started HL2 ( having owned a copy for a few months ). I loved HL1 when I played it years ago but for some reason I wasn't really bothered about HL2, even having seen the promo movie.
Then when I started it, I was like ' yea, seems ok, doubt it'll be as good as all the hype though or even doom3 ". Got to the water canals section and oh boy, now I was starting to see it. From then on, it just kept getting better and better and better. Every few moments, there was something new, it never got old. What can anyone say about the graphics and the physics other than utterly amazing? How on earth did they do it, it defies belief the way they put this game together so incredibly well. I loved every second of it. The challenge was just right, never too hard but hard enough to make you feel satisfied when you succeeded. The sounds throughout were fantastic from the screaming zombies to the boat and beach buggy, to the gut wrenching explosions. I can't imagine playing any other game now that'll be as much fun, because half life 2 is like a multi million dollar hollywood epic with so many goodies packed into it. It was worth the 5 years it took to make it, and when I read the rare review by someone that thought it sucked it makes me wonder if they had the right game installed.
Anyway, thanks valve for a great ride!
