I gots a problem

When i open Half-life 2 the whole screen is black, the sound and mouse works though(this is because I changed the resolution to 800 X 600)
Does anyone know what i should do?

Firstly are you using Steam? if not GTFO!
*Restart game
*Verify Gcf files
*Update Drivers
*Throw PC thru window
*Commit sucide

You missed off restarting your computer

Oh, and make sure you're plugged in.

Try reinstalling the game.
